A Tradition Rooted in Faith and Service

St Mary's Priory Catholic Infant and Junior Schools are part of a rich tradition of Catholic education and service in Tottenham that stretches back over 150 years.

Our story began in 1871, when a community of Servite Sisters (Servants of Mary) settled at Suffolk Lodge on St Ann's Road, establishing what became St Mary's Priory. Inspired by their devotion to Mary and their commitment to education, faith and service, the sisters became an important presence in the local community and helped to lay the foundations for Catholic education in Tottenham.

The Priory grew steadily during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, becoming both a spiritual centre and a place of learning. Through their dedication and care, the Servite Sisters inspired generations of young people and established values of faith, compassion, respect and service that continue to shape our school today.

In September 1966, St Mary's Priory Catholic School opened on its present Hermitage Road site, continuing the educational mission begun by the Servite Sisters almost a century earlier. Sisters from the Priory played an active role in school life, teaching and leading the school while nurturing a strong sense of faith, service and community.

Today, St Mary's Priory Catholic Infant and Junior Schools remain proud of this heritage. Guided by Gospel values and inspired by the legacy of the Servite Sisters, we continue to provide a caring, inclusive and ambitious education where every child is encouraged to flourish and fulfil their God-given potential.
