Enrichment

As part of our Religious Education curriculum, St Mary's strives to provide as many enrichment opportunities as possible to enhance the children's learning and deepen their understanding of faith. These experiences include welcoming visitors into school, visiting places of worship, and exploring museums and galleries. By engaging with faith and culture beyond the classroom, children are able to make meaningful connections with their learning, develop a deeper appreciation of religious traditions, and enrich their understanding of the world around them.

The National Gallery

All the children in 6D and Dove Class attended the Religion in Art Workshop at the National Gallery. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore a range of famous paintings while developing their understanding of the religious symbolism found within them. The workshop helped the children to recognise how artists use different symbols to convey meaning and how the same religious stories and themes can be interpreted and depicted in different ways. This enriched the children's appreciation of both art and faith.
